For the past two years, I have organized a food drive for my town. My dad is the president of my towns little league and he said that it would be okay if I asked each team in the little league to donate a few cans and help me fulfill my food drive. The drive was very successful and I ended up donating a few hundred cans to the local food bank around me. It was a great experience for me to get involved in because it made me feel like I was helping people who were less fortunate then me in my own neighborhood.
Another thing that I participated in was donating hundreds of baseball pants, hats and socks to children in Uganda. Ever since I was in elementary school I have been in contact with this school from Uganda. One of the letters I received stated that they would like to get an organized sport started so I talked to my dad and he gave me all the extras that they had. Shortly after I sent it, I received pictures of students wearing the things that I sent them and it made me feel good because they were so happy in the pictures.
